We have a great reputation and many satisfied clients…
We thought we might have some weathertightness issues, and had Nick check things out. It turned out to be just condensation, and it was nice to have that reassurance. Nick checked out the house’s stucco exterior and pointed out some places where we could do some preventative maintenance, and throughout he was very professional and extremely easy to interact with. Five Stars 🙂

Exceptional Building Inspection Service – 10/10
I recently hired Nick for a building inspection and could not be more impressed with his level of service. From start to finish, Nick demonstrated exceptional professionalism, reliability, and clear, easy communication. He was remarkably thorough in his assessment, identifying every issue with the property and taking the time to explain his findings in detail over the phone.
When a complex issue arose, he returned to the property in person to provide a detailed, on-site explanation.
He liaised directly with builders to investigate how water was leaking into the property and offered practical, actionable solutions.
When I followed up with an email full of extra questions, Nick responded promptly and patiently clarified every single doubt.
I have rarely encountered a professional who is so thorough, reliable, and genuinely lovely to deal with. Nick is easily the best in the business. I recommend his services 100% and will definitely be using him again in the future!

Finding my new home was a challenge and I wasn’t going to buy without having it checked out thoroughly. Nick was fantastic! He’s friendly, professional and his building reports are comprehensive, even using a drone in areas that aren’t overly accessible, he didn’t miss a thing and pointed out every bit that was a concern. I highly recommend Nick and “the little pig”, his fees are reasonable and worth every cent. Don’t buy your next home without ringing him first!

Nick was brilliant in completing a building inspection in super quick time when the vendors were pushing for a very short turn-around between the offer being made and becoming unconditional. I really appreciated his commitment to the tight time-frames as it gave me the peace of mind to commit to the purchase, knowing that he had thoroughly inspected the property that morning. I would certainly recommend his services to other home buyers.

We had recently sold our property and were in the market for something with character. Nick saved us from a potential money pit with a very thorough inspection, which meant we had a lot more of an idea on what to keep a close eye out for on the next place. He completed the inspections very promptly and didn’t muck about releasing the report. Great guy to deal with and I will be recommending him to anyone in the market for new property.

Nick Marer has been a knowledgeable and practical support for me during my house buying experience. He responded quickly and went above and beyond to fit in a pre-purchase inspection for me. The detail which came back in the report was amazing and allowed me to proceed with confidence. I really liked the way Nick translated all the information into non-building speak and took the time to ensure I understood what he had put in his report. Many thanks!

Nick was available at relatively short notice, at a time suitable to the vendor and myself. Nick was punctual and performed a thorough detailed home inspection inside and out. He didn’t mind us being present towards the end so that we could discuss with him the findings and advice. A very detailed lengthy typed report with photos was emailed within a short time frame of the home inspection. I found Nick very easy to work with. As word of mouth is the best means of advertising I would personally recommend Nick.

Nick did an excellent job in assessing a residential property urgently for me before it went to auction. He was recommended to me by the real estate agent and he did a prompt and meticulous assessment and report. I was very grateful that he spent time on the phone discussing the details with me, advising me on what would need to be done if I purchased the house and giving me an idea of the costs I would be up for. I look forward to working with him in the future.

Lesley and I appreciate the service you and your company provided in helping to purchase a house in Nelson. As we were overseas at the time we needed someone to communicate clearly and get back to us as there was a time difference to overcome.
Nick worked in well with the Lawyer and Estate Agent services to provide a seamless process that saved time, as this was of the essence. The service Nick Marer at the Little Pig Building Company provided was professional, friendly and to the point.
We received a concise, thorough and informed report that helped to us to buy our house. Having tried other Building Inspectors, Nick’s Master Builders skills and detail to service helped Lesley and I to see and estimate the issues that may have been present in the property we wanted to buy, or not! Nick also contacted us by phone to help us understand the details of the report we wanted clarification on.
Nick’s guidance not only saved us from purchasing a bad investment, but helped us gain a property we now store much value in.
A big thanks.
